Though conservatives may politically have disagreed with him, the world of journalism lost a great man today. Tim Russert passed away from a heart attack this afternoon while at work at the age of 58. He had just returned from Italy where his family was celebrating their son’s graduation from Boston College. I will always remember him for his famous white board during the 2000 election. Sunday mornings and the entire television world will never be the same. Keep the Russert family in your prayers in their time of need as well as NBC News.

I know that Jimmy Carter was not a great President, but I never thought I would see the day where he would jump overboard and actually visit enemies of the United States. Carter has recently written books critical of Israel, which some construed as anti-Semitic. While I disagree with his views, I will not accuse him of anti-Semitism. What I will say is that I feel that he is now America’s shame. I say that because he is so unwilling to accept his irrelevance on the world stage anymore, that he will willingly sit down with a group that advocates the destruction of Israel, and, if they had their way, the destruction of the United States itself. Hamas is a terrorist organization, they are the enemy, and for Carter to meet with them definitely fits into the Constitutional definition of treason.

The greatest outrage of the whole visit has not just been his meeting with Hamas, but that he laid a wreath at the grave of known terrorist Yasser Arafat. In addition to this affront, Carter hugged and kissed a Hamas leader. Carter has chosen to disregard calls from various federal agencies to cancel this trip and to not meet with the Hamas leader, which shows a high level of contempt for his government and nation. Not only is this a huge propaganda piece for the terrorists, it is a huge security risk for Carter, as who knows what Hamas s capable of doing to him.

This issue raises serious questions about the role former Presidents should play in the world. I personally feel that they should step aside, stay out of world and domestic affairs, and enjoy private life. While Carter’s work with Habitat for Humanity is indeed noble, he needs to stay the hell out of world affairs. He was a useless President when in office, and is becoming a useless ex-President, who finds trashing his country more appropriate than supporting her. Jimmy Carter is America’s shame and this latest outrage will undoubtedly tarnish his memory in the country.

The anti-war crowd is at it again and have reached a new low. I witnessed the futile attempts by students on my campus to resurrect the 1960s by protesting the war in Iraq on Thursday, which included disturbing classes in the building that I work. It seems that anti-war idiots can not bring themselves to honor Easter and respect those who are worshiping God and celebrating the resurrection of Christ. Chicago is the latest battle against these anti-American, anarchist traitors. Their victims, the parishioners at the Holy Name Cathedral. The parishioners were celebrating Easter mass with Cardinal Francis George, when three men and three women interrupted his homily, shouting, “Even the Pope calls for peace.” In addition to this rude disruption, these creatures decided to squirt fake blood on themselves and innocent parishioners. Damaging a church and assaulting worshipers, what a great way to help the anti-war cause.

These immature protesters were shouted down by a couple of parishioners and hauled out by security and ushers. In addition, these ingrates have been arrested on felony charges of criminal damage to property and two counts of simple battery, which is a misdemeanor. I would like to express my sympathy to Cardinal George and the parishioners for what they suffered today. I hope that they will remember to forgive as Christ forgave those who crucified Him. To the perpetrators of the crime, I hope that you will apologize for your actions and turn from your ways and seek more peaceful displays.

This story raises the important question, as it relates to the anti-war movement, is nothing sacred anymore? We put up with your disruption of our workday, as you block streets for protests that working persons use to get to work (because we all know that many of these persons do not work). We put up with their vile displays, like dousing themselves in blood, burning items, and destroying property. Now, we can’t even escape them on a day of rest and celebration. We can’t find peace in the church worshiping our God, as these people insist on the right to disrupt our places of worship. To anti-war protesters, why can’t you take a day or two off and leave us alone? We know you don’t like the war, but please let people worship on Easter and other Sundays in peace. Keep your garbage outside the church doors. Let the church remain a sacred and peaceful place and, to those involved in the Chicago stunt, clean up your mess and give an offering to the church.

Marilyn Mackel has stooped to a new low in judicial abuse and activism. The Los Angeles Children’s Court Commissioner, who works in Monterey Park, does not deserve to be called Your Honor after what she did. Mackel, an anti-war individual denied Shawn Sage early enlistment in the US Marine Corps as a sniper, which included a $10,000 signing bonus, as part of the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) last fall. Sage, a young man in the California foster care system, who has the support of his foster parents to enlist was denied based solely on Mackel’s anti-war, anti-military views. This is a shame and this woman should be stripped of her position and disbarred, as she has no business working in any legal career.

Mackel reportedly told Sage that she did not support the war or military, and that she did not trust recruiters. Her bailiff even put in his two cents, mentioning that his son was in the Army DEP program and that the recruiters did not care about young people, only caring about the numbers. Sage’s recruiter Sgt. Guillermo Medrano expressed a feeling of being “burned at the stake.” Mackel has committed this offense before, denying DEP to a person desiring to enter the Navy.

This ordeal inspired Sage to enter the “Write a Bill Challenge”, which resulted in his entry winning and becoming AB2238, sponsored by Republican Assemblyman Cameron Smyth.  The bill allows foster children 17 or older to enlist in the services as long as they have the consent of their foster parents or social worker. I do hope that this bill passed, so that activist liberal judges can no longer deny motivated Americans the opportunity to serve.

This is just the latest liberal abuse from California. Earlier this year, the Bezerkeley (I mean Berkeley) City Council passed a resolution calling Marine recruiters “uninvited and unwelcome intruders” and allowing anti-war radical group Code Pink parking in front of the recruiting station for protesting purposes. The outrage prompted lawmakers to draft legislation rescinding federal funds, which forced the council to backtrack on their treason.

Marilyn Mackel, you should be ashamed of yourself, denying a young man his dream to serve his country. You should resign immediately, apologize to those foster kids who you abused for partisan reasons. Your actions border on treason, as they can be interpreted to constitute rendering aid and comfort to the enemy. Americans, wake up and stand up to activist liberal judges that seem to feel it their duty to make law rather than interpret. Let your voice be heard with regard to the rights of foster children to serve their country. Finally, pray for Shawn Sage, as he prepares to serve his country in the summer.

Well, it is now official. John McCain, according to Fox News, is projected the winner in all Republican contests this evening. With the victories for McCain, Gov. Mike Huckabee has conceded, paving the way for McCain to capture the GOP nomination. I still hold out some hope for Allen Keyes’ presidential bid, but now is the time for McCain to prepare for the assault from the left-wing media, which is rabidly pro-Obama. McCain has been the darling of the media in its coverage of the Republican campaigns, but now that he is the nominee, which I believe is what they wanted, they will turn on him quickly.

Conservatives, now is the time to prepare. As much as I would prefer a more conservative candidate, we must do all that we can to prevent a liberal takeover of the White House, as that will be more disastrous than McCain’s moderate policies would ever be on our nation. The time has come to focus on winning back the Congress and defeating Clinton or Obama in November.
